[Lnc-business] Twitter/Social media - again

I believe that the correct course of action on these incidents is to
respond to the individual situation. I don't think there is a one size
fits all solution for approving all posts at this time, bar hiring a
full-time social media director whose main purpose is to do so. Our
social media team often reflects the "shotgun" strategy of doing things.
There is a lot of content, often directed at multiple subjects and
themes. As such, some of that spray invariably ends up not being our
best work. Since it is a numbers game, its my opinion that we ought to
address it as such and take an acceptable number of gaffes. It pains me
to type that, but it seems to be the reality unless we severely reign in
our social media teams, and I believe doing so would present more harm
than good. A thorough look by the LNC of our social media practices and
speaking to staff about setting guidelines and training team members
with continued oversight is our best way forward to avoid such
incidents. I am certain that without our current level of involvement,
our rate of incidences would likely be much higher.
