Ms. Mattson, I look forward to the rest of your comments. I only discussed
you in one portion, and if there is anything false in that section, I will
obviously correct, but I am not going to guess at what you might think that
is. I have re-read it and it is as I recalled. I would be delighted to
hear that a bunch of 2018 convention documents were coming my way. If that
is the case, please send them sooner rather than later.
I am going to set forth the bottom line first on the issues in this email.
In the report text, I say this for Platform:
"*Results:* Alaska, *California*, *Colorado*, Florida, Georgia, Illinois,
Michigan, *Montana*, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, *Pennsylvania*, Texas,
Virginia, and Washington."
The correct states have been notified of their appointments.
I have not spoken with any states regarding credentials, that was next on
my contact list.
*So no states have to make any corrections.*
Now for the details:
1. 2016 BSM numbers versus 2018 BSM numbers.
I had multiple charts as I was working this out - and mentioned to you in
that October 2 email when you gave your figures that this was exactly the
information that should have been passed on and was not. I double-checked
my list to yours and it matched. In preparing this report, I copied the
older chart that used the 2016 calculations rather than the 2018 one. This
is a perfect example again how how a handbook and data needs to be passed
along. In retrieving all of this information, there was jumping between
2010 census data (which is in both the 2016 and 2018 delegate allocation
manuals); 2016 Presidential vote data (which is in the 2018 Delegation
allocation manuals), and 2017 membership data. I was double checking my
census data from 2016 and because the BSM data is right next to that, in
this version of the chart, used those figures. Later I discovered that and
created a different chart, but failed to discard my prior work due to the
scrambling that took place after Mr. Dixon's death in which I was working
on this data, which inadvertantly got copied here but the states notified
were from the correct one. Since I had not contacted states about
Credentials with that deadline being farther out, I quickly jotted down the
top five from the chart here - but that is not the top five I have in my
final data. In version 2, I will include the updated chart. And while
doing these, I was providing the states with prospective "if the deadline
for delegate allocations were today, these would be your numbers".... In
a future handbook a great big caveat will be listed about the date-jumping
and the potential for confusion.
2. Nevada v. Montana Platform seats
Montana had been notified not Nevada - that was an old chart which I did
not mean to copy here. Montana had been notified months before and were in
fact the first to give me their appointment.
3. Indiana v. Georgia Platform seats
Ditto to above.
4. Ohio v. Virginia Credentials
I have not made any contact and that was list jotted quickly for this
report from the old chart.
5. Nov v Dec deadline.
That is what I get for calculating appointment deadlines for both the
Colorado state convention and the national convention at the same time.
The Nov deadline is for the LPCO and they wanted to be sure to take care of
all of their appointments at the same time. I will make sure everyone
knows they have an additional month. This is where the auto-calculate
spreadsheet I am preparing for future secretaries will take care of all of
these calculations for them after which I am going to propose a policy
manual change similar to colorado that critical dates be listed in each
secretary's report.
*Thus as far as the states are concerned, no harm no foul. The correct
states received notification for platform and will for credentials. I
simply copied an older chart in this report which I had already corrected.
I thank you profusely for your timely review for *
Please let me know your other concerns as I would like to address them all
in one revision but regardless, by Tues morning I will issue draft 2 with
the proper chart.
*In Liberty,*

found anything offensive or overly off-putting (or some other social faux
pas), please contact me privately and let me know. *
