[Lnc-business] Social media ownership

Friends,

I've got a real problem with this Facebook post:

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157723161582726&id=5978057725

I understand the nuance of stating that it came from the desk of the chair
but it was posted by the national social media account. Did the APRC
approve? Does the chair have authority to state his opinions and use the
reach of the national page to advance his thoughts in this matter? Can we
all issue posts from our desk and have the page post them?

We are getting some pretty significant backlash on this one - both from
those who agree and disagree. This isn't a question for me of agreeing or
not with the post. I am disturbed that we as a party have now commented at
all in this way. Even worse on the national social media page without the
LNC agreeing or passing a resolution. Yes, Nick represents the party and
has the freedom to share his personal opinions. I just do not believe his
personal opinions should be shared through our national social media
without consent of this body.

If the APRC did approve, it is somewhat moot, but this was not done with
wisdom or forethought to the effects this would have or the optics of
sharing on national page to the public at large. It isn't even a shared
post which would give some distance from our brand. I am very disappointed.
