Dear LNC Members,
So life has changed quite a bit. Along the already rigid, rigged and
impossible rules of the road we are finding barriers that appear to be
impassable for the time being. I personally am encouraged by how many
Libertarians are reaching out to me worried about the party and want to be
a part of protecting it at this time. As a new member of the Libertarian
Community, it is great to see that there is a real desire to roll up
sleeves, adapt to the challenges at hand and do the tedious work associated
with fundraising. As the convention question hangs over our head and state
conventions are being pushed off, party members are looking to find their
new community normal. Leadership will be critical to keeping the party
collected and this is why I am reaching out today.
Working to implement strategies takes a lot of time developing
technological capacity and training. I have been working to get our team
trained up on processes and they have been rocking it. I have also been
working the phones on call time with both Nick and Dan several times a week
to make sure we are connecting with important and often neglected donors
that we had lost or were on the brink of losing.
Having gotten that program up and running smoothly, I would now like to
work more with LNC members to target communities regionally. So many donors
and members have questions and even if there are no answers, they are
finding it reassuring to connect with Libertarian leadership to at least
understand complexities at a higher level. To have these one-on-one
conversations makes them feel valued as members and promotes giving.
There are many reasons to give to the party right now. We will most
certainly continue fighting for deregulation and slashing red tape for
medical professionals. We will continue to tirelessly advocate against
government interference into small business and free market solutions as
social distancing continues to be required. We have a great opportunity to
lead on homeschooling support for parents who are unprepared and
overwhelmed. Ballot Access is in even more dire straits than before Corona
hit and will now be fought hard on a legal front in dozens of states
simultaniously. All of these reasons are great reasons to support the party
of Liberty. As we see drastic market shifts we need to make sure that
giving is still a priority for those who value these strengths.
My challenge is that there are many of you and only one of me (two
actually, now that I have Bekah trained up). I am asking at this time for
you to reach out to me. If you can find 2 consecutive hours a week, I would
be thrilled to work with you doing call time in your region. For those of
you At Large, we have targeted strategies that we can work with you on as
well. The lines are hot as people are home. Our rate of conversations are
up and we can really capitalize on this opportunity to connect. These
conversations are important to you as well as you will learn how
Libertarian families and individuals are being affected and it will
certainly make you a better advocate for your constituency.
Please reach back to me via email and let me know if and when you have time
to give to fundraising. Bekah and I will be happy to work with you and find
something that can work with your schedule. We are looking forward to
working with you and making sure that we keep the party strong and united
on keeping Liberty valued across the country. The Libertarian message could
not be more important now.
I hope that you are all in good health and am excited to reconnect with
each of you.
