[Lnc-business] Status of Rosen Contract for Orlando

I notice that the chair did not mention obtaining COC approval of the
contract in the process he listed. This is not an optional step. The
chair spoke of himself, Mr. Kraus, and Ms. Ryan "finalizing" the contract
terms, but they do not have that power. The COC has not been provided a
copy of these newly negotiated terms.
We all know that the chair is trying to throw dirt into the gears of this
contract, and his announcement of removal of Daniel Hayes from the COC in
the final steps of contract negotiation is just another step in that
process.
Over the years I have been continually frustrated by the LNC's general
reluctance as a group to assert itself and take action to stop things that
damage the organization. It is time for the LNC to be brave and assert
itself.
I think from this point on, I think ALL members of the COC need to be
involved with and copied on any communications with Rosen Shingle Creek or
with Nick/staff about this contract.
I want to point out that though LNC policy gives the LNC chair the power to
select which of the COC members is chair, the same policy says that the LNC
Chair's appoints the non-LNC persons to the COC only with the consent of
the COC. He has unilateral power to remove committee appointments that he
unilaterally made, but he did not unilaterally appoint Mr. Hayes to be a
COC member. The LNC members on the COC also had to approve Mr. Hayes'
appointment. In such a case, I would like to hear the argument for why he
can unilaterally remove him from the committee if the COC does not agree.
