[Lnc-business] Clearing the air

This is my final opinion on this matter, I abstain from anything else regarding this matter. I’m absolutely done, livid and frustrated with the continued deterioration of a group I felt very optimistic and hopeful about not long ago.

I think with the dual contract fiasco the statement has been sufficiently made of the concerns at least re: the contract. The good news, is people can book their rooms and people can plan on a convention, I don’t see what good can come of any further fight in that issue other than blowing the whole thing up with such limited time. If the Operations Director signed the contract, I’m satisfied with that as I do trust our staff.

Now if there is any kind of surprise regarding cancellation in the next few weeks the gambit thus far will have been vindicated and the next LNC can put in the proper controls being aware of our failure. (Although I doubt some would want that gambit to be vindicated and many of us would just prefer to have a convention, so win win if we make it to Orlando successfully)

Further escalation will only result in undermining the true fundamental goal here, have a convention and transfer power to the next LNC. All other fights will not be resolved between now and then and the record is clear where you all stood and stand.

Now regarding the shifting deck chairs on the CoC I have less to say on and I’ll leave it to you all to discuss. (Although I do think Turney is a spectacular choice and the simplest thing would be for the CoC meet with him and if satisfied then reaffirm his appointment with a formal recommendation to keep the policy manual precedences in check)

My recommendation:

- Plan a convention
- Start putting together a compendium to give the next LNC of governance issues THEY should undertake, I’m sure they’d appreciate such a document
- plan for Orlando, as I plan to be there and preside over what I hope will be a much better and hopeful climax to my time on the LNC that this last chapter has been.

Reach out if you want to talk about the planning and execution of the convention, as I am deck to help and make this great. As far these pending disputes, I’m done, just leave me out of it.
