Dear All,

After the review of the bid from the in-house A/V provider from the Rosen
Shingle Creek, edits and approval from Special Counsel Oliver Hall, and the
decision of the Convention Oversight Committee not to move forward with an
addendum for remote sites in other states, I approved the contract with the
Audio Visual Group and directed Mr. Kraus to execute it on behalf of the
Libertarian National Committee.

As a point of personal privilege, I didn't appreciate receiving over 100
emails sent to the business list over the weekend while I was visiting
Minneapolis to work in the community with the state chair and activists
from the Libertarian Party of Minnesota. Getting a message that my Gmail
storage was full while in the middle of a protest march and hours away from
being back to a computer was particularly inconvenient. The same few
members of this committee have been exceedingly inconsiderate to their
fellow members in using a list intended for party business as their water
cooler and sending tens of messages on the same topic, rather than
collecting their thoughts into one or two emails. Perhaps this strategy of
flooding the list is persuasive to others, but it has not been persuasive
to me.

Also, a LNC member of the Convention Oversight Committee apparently thought
it was appropriate to share exact figures of two contracts to the public
list, something I find ironic, given that the same member has often been a
strong proponent of confidentiality of contracts and their details. In the
future, I would ask all members of the LNC to use good judgment in not
sharing confidential information publicly.

As the days grow shorter between now and the second sitting of convention,
I would ask members of this committee to focus on the work of the
Libertarian Party rather than a flurry of emails and motions in the waning
weeks of the term, especially since there will be a new LNC in less than a
month.

My flight and room are booked and I look forward to seeing those of you who
will be attending in person in Orlando.

Yours in liberty,
Nick
