Mr. Lieberman pointed out that travel the weekend before Thanksgiving is expensive. I was a travel agent for nearly 20 years and the weekend before Thanksgiving is one of the most expensive travel times of the year. With that being said, here is matrix of airfares for the dates originally chosen, 2 weeks later and the weekend after that.

City______________________NOV 16-18_________________Nov 30-Dec 2_________________Dec 6-8____________________

Boston 180 180 180

Columbus 221 221 221

Austin 405 403 403

Tuscon 671 380 440

Las Vegas 439 366 366

San Francisco 528 314 314

Los Angeles 463 348 348

I did not check every city, obviously, but enough to get the idea that for anyplace in the east or mid-west, that if does not make much difference. It makes a great deal of difference to those of us in the southwest and west.

These fares are all from Kayak. I did not check Southwest or JetBlue and of course airfares change constantly.

A motion anyone?

Ruth
