<div dir="ltr"><div><div><div>Scott has raised some valid points.<br><br></div>Yes, the technology would allow people not on the LNC to participate, though we have options. If we need an Executive Session, we can set a meeting password to control access. Or once a meeting has started even without a password, it can be "locked" so no others can join.<br><br></div><div>In addition, the meeting host can mute participants' microphones (everyone can see whose microphone is or isn't muted), take away webcam privileges from a user, or remove them from the meeting if we deem them to be disruptive or if we need an Executive Session.<br></div><div><br></div>1. None of the top-4 services we evaluated provided any means to put people into categories of those that can vote or raise hands versus those that can not. When conducting votes, yes, we will need to make sure that each vote being cast is from someone entitled to vote. That is less efficient, but important to do. Perhaps I should offer this suggestion to Citrix (underlying provider of the Adobe Connect technology) as a future enhancement that would be really nice to have.<br><br></div><div>In a face-to-face meeting, this is controlled with seating arrangements. All voters sit at the table, with non-voters on the sidelines. We could, perhaps, create a little visual segregation in the alphabetized attendee list (which displays various statuses for each person) by requiring that observers put "z-" in front of their name, so they are all grouped and pushed to the bottom of the attendee list. Then we don't have to scroll very far through the attendee list to check all the LNC member statuses quickly.<br></div><div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>2. I do not recall seeing any option for the meeting host to prevent one or more participants from using the chat box. Certainly the chat box could cause meeting clutter, and we could make a rule about its use if people won't use good judgment. We'll see what real-life experience is like, I suppose.<br><br><br></div><div>3. When using the chat box, you can choose for your message to go to everyone, or you can send a private message to another participant. I am not sure if it's possible to send to a sub-group larger than 1. I don't know how much chat messages impact system performance, but it is possible that if a large number of people were sending private chat messages in the background, it could slow other things down.<br></div><div><br></div><div>-Alicia<br><br></div><div><div><br><br></div></div></div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Mon, Dec 8, 2014 at 12:06 PM, Scott L. <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:scott73@earthlink.net" target="_blank">scott73@earthlink.net</a>></span> wrote:<br><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">
