<div dir="ltr">I agree, we cannot fight reality. We can change it, of course, but we can only do that by first recognizing what it is. If student activists are 'standing with Rand,' what do we do to make the most of this circumstance? I certainly agree that we ask for their support down-ticket. <div><br></div><div>Also open is the question of what they will do if Rand is not nominated - will they support the nominee, whom Rand will almost certainly endorse, or look elsewhere? Of course, we want them to look elsewhere -as in us - in that circumstance. Similarly, we want them to look elsewhere if he is nominated and loses, or if he wins and doesn't behave as they would like, or if he wins and is term-limited out of office, etc. So how do we make ourselves the clear and obvious "elsewhere" to look - and good enough to cause them to break out of a comfortable position - in the meantime? It would seem to me that the preference they are expressing is for something that has a 'fighting chance of being elected.' I would say we do that by building a record of successful campaigns. Student activists, when any of the above take place, could receive a letter (not asking for money) talking about our recent electoral successes, stripped of comparative analysis, and not showing vote totals for losing races. This might be convincing, to at least some of them, to vote Libertarian at least part of the time.</div><div><br></div><div>It would be interesting to see what positions of Rand they particularly favor, and which they live with. </div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br clear="all"><div><div class="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr">Joshua A.
