Colleagues:

First let me say I think Los Angeles would be a great place to have our first 2016 LNC meeting.

It's been a long time since the LNC has met in California, and I say it's about time. We have

a huge number of members in California, and with the problems they are having with Top Two,

meeting there would be a morale booster for them.

Concerning our upcoming meeting in Orlando, the reason I suggested it was so that the many

new LNC members who had never seen the 2016 Convention hotel would have an opportunity

to do so.

These are my thoughts. If we are not doing either, then lets just figure where we can keep the costs down the best for the party and for the members. Figure out the easiest and cheapest locations for everyone to meet, and with minimal staff costs. Maybe in the national HQ, but maybe it might turn out air fares etc would be cheaper for everyone if we met in Atlanta or Minneapolis, etc.

As for conflicts with various sporting events, etc., who cares. It is a good travel hub, and there is a cheap light rail system that can take us either downtown or to Mall of America. Hotels are relatively cheap. Weather of course would be cold, but you really do not have to be outside that much anyway.

I also think Detroit might be a good site for us to meet sometime, so we can catch up on what is happening to that distressed city.

Roland of ND

 From: Wes Benedict <wes.benedict@lp.org>
To: lnc-business@hq.lp.org
Sent: Friday, October 23, 2015 5:38 PM
Subject: [Lnc-business] first 2016 LNC meeting date and location?

If you want to propose dates and possible locations in advance of
the next LNC meeting for a February or March LNC meeting, feel free
to make suggestions to consider in advance.

Robert Kraus and I have occasionally proposed dates and locations,
only to be met with derision and scorn for conflicting with certain
sports events.

A list of 2016 state conventions is here:
https://www.lp.org/blogs/staff/2016-state-conventions

Staff is considering the possibility of another training session,
possibly in February, and while we would probably attempt to avoid
the LNC meeting, that's not 100% required.

We'd like to announce the date and location in the upcoming LP New
if possible.

Thanks,
