Dear colleagues:

I hope all is well with you. I am writing to suggest that a
poll between Phoenix and Oklahoma City would be appropriate, and
that the room rates for the hotels be provided prior to conducted
the poll. I suggest this for the following reasons:

* The previous poll did not allow for the expression of intensity
of preference. My vote for Oklahoma City was a result of the fact
that I had to select one of the listed options in order to
participate in the poll. I was essentially indifferent between
Phoenix and OKC when I voted.

* If we are able to hold the February meeting at a prospective
convention hotel in Phoenix, then unless the cost of holding the
meeting in Phoenix is substantially greater than holding it in OKC,
my preference would change from a very weak preference for OKC to a
weak preference for Phoenix.

* A poll with only the choices of Phoenix and OKC may produce an
ordering between the two locations that is different from the one
produced by the previous poll.

* If I understand correctly, the LP Oklahoma is allowed to conduct
only one submission of signatures in its petitioning effort. If so,
then if the deadline for submission of signatures is at least a week
later than Feb. 22, my gut feeling is that the signatures should not
be submitted on or about Feb. 22. Thus, it is not clear to me that
one of the possible benefits of an LNC meeting in OKC (a press
conference associated with the submission of the signatures) would
materialize.

As always, thanks for your work for liberty. I look forward to
seeing you next month.
