Nevertheless, 90 Libertarian candidates qualified for the ballot and 23 were elected, including 8 incumbents who were re-elected."<br><br><br><font face="verdana,sans-serif">I thank the Executive Director for informing our members that what actually happened is that 15 of our candidates got elected, and 8 were re-elected. I love it when our incumbents get re-elected.<br><br>The real world differentiates between incumbents who are running for re-election, challengers who are running for an open seat, and challengers who are running <b>against </b>an incumbent. I am glad that our ED gave out enough information to permit our readers to use 3rd grade math to calculate the numbers that I did above.<br><br>It would be really neat if our historical number of nationwide partisan and nationwide non-partisan elected Libertarians were available in a chart going back 10 or 20 or 45 years. I assume the numbers are readily available for the past 16 years, but are probably harder to find for the previous millennium. If you want to succeed in something, the first thing you need to do is look at how successful you have been at accomplishing it in the past.<br><br></font></font><font face="georgia,serif"><font face="verdana,sans-serif"><font face="georgia,serif"><font face="verdana,sans-serif">Perhaps the next LNC can direct the ED to produce those charts.
