<div class="gmail_quote">---------- Forwarded message ----------<br>From: "Boyd Kendall" <<a href="mailto:bkendall109@gmail.com">bkendall109@gmail.com</a>><br>Date: Jul 15, 2016 1:56 PM<br>Subject: At large position<br>To:  <<a href="mailto:chair@lp.org">chair@lp.org</a>>,  <<a href="mailto:secretary@lp.org">secretary@lp.org</a>>,  <<a href="mailto:whitney.Bilyeu@lp.org">whitney.Bilyeu@lp.org</a>><br>Cc: <br><br type="attribution"><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><span>I am seeking the At-Large-Representative seat that is open due to the passing of Dr. Feldman. While no one can fill his shoes I would like the opportunity to carry on his legacy and move the party forward.</span><div><br></div><div>Boyd Kendall </div><div><br>My name is Boyd Kendall, and I live in Mississippi.I am married with 2 sons. I have been all over the United States and have lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Washington and now MIssissippi. I wanted to take this time to introduce myself. I am seeking the At-Large-Representative position on the LNC. I came from the Republican party where I was the Vice Chairman of the Mississippi Gulf Coast young Republicans. I was also a member of the State and National parties. I even ran for office as a Republican. During that time and after, I was continually challenged as to why I was a Republican. The more I was challenged, the deeper I started looking into the two major parties and realized that I could no longer support either of the major parties. They both are the same! It was disheartening to realize that what I believed about myself was wrong, and I could no longer support what I knew was not me. I took a long hard look at who I am deep down. I knew I was a conservative but neither of the parties represented me. During this questioning time, I ran across Aaron Barksdale who brought the Libertarian philosophy and background to me. The more I learned, the more I realized I was a Libertarian trapped in a Republican world. In 2015, I ran for office again but this time as a Libertarian. It was a big learning experience. I found the support of the National and State parties lacking. I would look at the National party and see the fight for ballot access on a National level. Even with it being an off year for the Presidential Election. I do not think this is intentional but more of an oversight. I saw the difference between the support that I had received during my Republican run and Libertarian run. The kind of support I received from the Republican party is the support I want to bring to the Libertarian Party. I could see that there is a battle between the parties on the National level. Unfortunately for local elections, those candidates are the ones the party could help win and build up a large Libertarian footprint but neglects the very base. This is why I am running for the At Large Representative Position. I also want to help bring some of the National Parties resources to local elections. The more Local elections that we win, the more likely it will be that we can start winning bigger elections. Going into this next year and new election cycle, I would like to see an increase in offices held by at least 20 percent year over year! This is the way we grow the party. This is how we can increase our footprint and start taking seats all over the country. This is the future path of the Libertarian party! <br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div></div>
