I'm not going to claim I'm using all the best practices I'm aware
of, but, if you see page two of my attached resume you'll see that
the early part of my career was focused on production and
inventory management. While I was trained by some of the most
radical J.I.T. practitioners in the industry, I generally took a
more pragmatic approach. I also earned a Certification in
Production and Inventory Management from the American Production
and Inventory Control Society in 1999 (again I haven't implemented
all those best practices--but by hunches are informed by them).
see a dip when the campaign distributes its items to state
coordinators, but we'll still be moving a lof of things. The
proposed budget change is self-offsetting. Sure, given enough
latitude, staff could, I guess, decide to fill the office up
with items no one will buy and not see the corresponding
revenue increase, but that seems unlikely, has no historical
precedent, and would be easily dealt with. If revenues fall
short, it's likely expenses will also. My hope is that doing
this in larger chunks will give some latitude to improve
quantity discounts on the purchasing side (but that may not be
the case) and also keep it from coming back to us.
