They are their own institute. They've attempted to become licensed by the Cuban government, but their overlords have not yet granted them permission to teach free market economics. The original press release mistakenly referred to Mises Cuba as an affiliate when it's actually an independent organization of liberty-minded folks. I'm in ongoing contact with Mises Cuba.</div><div><br></div><div>Also, Herrera and Velazquez are Cuban citizens. LP Nevada took up this cause because the detained have no one to speak for them. The problem is that these Cubans have become inspired by all of us American armchair libertarians who take for granted their ability to throw conventions and conferences and talk about liberty and how bad the state is. They've attended Mises Circles and libertarian meetings and carried that back to Cuba. Well, they've been arrested for it--for what we all do on a regular basis without a second thought. In Cuba, it's a matter of who's willing to go mess with State Security and ask questions. That's why we in LP Nevada are speaking out for their release. <u>We're it.</u></div><div><br></div><div>Nevada and New Hampshire have moved forward with this. We'll stand up for jailed libertarian activists whether they were locked up by Raul Castro or by the Trump administration.
