<p>I think phone calls from a friendly person simply encouraging
people to attend will boost attendance significantly. For each
state, you would want to understand the process for getting people
added as delegates. Additionally, in non-presidential-years, there
are often fewer attendees meaning more states with opening. And
people who aren't added to their own state affiliates are often
picked up by other states. Also, you can encourage people to
attend even if they aren't voting delegates. Voting delegates are
supposed to sit through tedious, extremely boring discussions and
votes regarding the platform and bylaws (something I've usually
skipped myself the times I was a delegate). Non-voting delegates
have the option of attending seminar sessions or sneaking off to <a moz-do-not-send="true" href="http://www.patobriens.com/patobriens/default.asp">Pat
O'Briens</a> for a hurricane. <br>
</p>
<p>Seriously, the phone call saying "Hi, this is Jane, I wanted to
see if you would come to our national convention in New Orleans.
We had so much fun in Orlando in 2016. "</p>
<p>Of course a line up of speakers that includes "cool, fun,
entertaining" speakers and trainers that attendees would want to
hang out with after their speeches, as opposed to "dry, scholarly"
stuff, probably helps. So, encourage the convention committee to
sign me up in a speaking slot. <br>
