My friend Mary Ruwart just informed <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719633">me that Lee Wrights passed away early today.<br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719632"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719612"> As you may know, Mr. Wrights served on the LNC as an at-large <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719614">representative (during the 2002-2004 and 2008-2010 terms) and as <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719616">vice-chair (during the 2004-2006 and 2012-2014 terms). He also served <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719618">on the Judicial Committee during the 2010-2012 term. He may be best <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_720879">known for his candidacy for the 2012 LP presidential nomination. In <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_720881">addition, he and Mike Bragg founded the web publication Liberty for <br></div><div dir="ltr">All. He was involved with several organizations in the liberty movement <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_720882">at the time of his passing.<br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719693"><br></div><div dir="ltr"> I remember meeting Mr. Wrights for the first time in early December <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_720883">2000, during my term as chair of the LNC. I had traveled to Charlotte, <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_720884">North Carolina to meet with libertarians in the greater Charlotte area. <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_720886">Mr. Wrights drove from his home near Winston-Salem to attend the <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719695">meeting. His desire to see liberty triumph in our lifetime was palpable.<br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719685"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719683"> Allow me to request cosponsors for the following motion:<br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719687"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1493256420288_719667"> The Libertarian National Committee expresses its sorrow at the <br></div><div dir="ltr">passing of Lee Wrights, and extends its condolences to his family and <br></div><div dir="ltr">friends.
