Alison is running in a special election to fill the vacant District 72 State House seat. This district includes Sarasota County. We believe that this is a more than viable campaign to elect a viable, dedicated, and trustworthy Libertarian as a representative of Florida. Alison has gained ballot access as a Libertarian, garnering the required signatures during Hurricane Irma, no less, so half the battle has already been won. In order to fully compete, however, we are requesting a $5000 donation from the LNC.</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p><p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">Currently, we have raised more than $11,000 breaking all records for like races in the state of Florida. This has been used to purchase rack cards, mailers, banners, canvass and phone bank software, campaign management software and so much more. We also have the voter data for the district.</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p><p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">Any considered donation from the LNC will be used to ensure that we can fulfill the allotment of dollars needed to launch an effective Direct Mail campaign. We will also be using the requested funds for Robocalls and billboard placement. We also need additional funds for election day to manage poll workers. As we saw in PA recently, having poll workers present is KEY to winning. </span><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p><p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">Highlights of the campaign so far include inclusion in a Veterans Panel, where Alison impressed the crowd in attendance. As mentioned above, we were able to garner the required signatures to be included on the ballot. We were able to do this during Irma due to the hard work of the numerous volunteers we have. We continue to recruit and gain new volunteers as well. We recently purchased a call system to use during phone banking, which is possible because we do have the voter registration data for the district. The campaign has also garnered support from the Feldman Foundation who is providing consultation services, media/press services and supplying an army to be able to make two calls per voter. One now and one for GOTV. </span><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p><p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">Alison is not shut out in the media for this campaign and we have effectively forged relationships with key reporters.
