<div dir='auto'>Can someone please point me to the section of the bylaws or even the policy manual where the procedures are outlined for dolling out disciplinary measures against party members and non nominated candidates who are not members of the LNC, nor acting in any official capacity as a representative of the party. <div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Or even the section that gives this body the authority to "punish" party members who do not serve on this deliberative body? </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Or is this just personal for some people who don't like Ben? </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Sure what he said may have been distasteful, and even contrary to our principles. But no one was talking about it and I'd heard nothing about it until members of the LNC decided to start advertising the fact. Whereas I've seen actual news coverage of "Libertarian Party Members" condemning the pride movement as disgusting, and protesting against a celebration of a movement the LP has supported since its inception. Are we going to censure them too? </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">What about the Socialists who advocate violent seizure of private property and campaign for public office with that platform on the Libertarian line? Are we going to censure them too?</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">We never censured Augustus Invictus before he left? Should we jump on that now in case he tries to come back? What about Chris Cantwell? Or neck, Nathan Larson, I know at least one person who's way more upset about him than Ben Leder. </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">The simple fact is, I'm not convinced that the LNC even has the authority to censure someone who isnt a member of this body, nor would it have any teeth to be enforced if we did. Last time we censured someone, it WAS a member of this body, and all it accomplished was blowing up their audience, getting new coverage of what they were saying in Reason and other media outlets, as well as making him louder and more determined to be the martyr we were making him. </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">I will not co-sponsor a motion that serves no purpose, and I will not vote to punish a party member in a manner which I'm convinced exceeds the authority and duties of this committee. <br><br><div data-smartmail="gmail_signature" dir="auto">Justin O'Donnell<br>LNC Region 8 Representative</div></div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Jul 11, 2019 12:17 AM, Caryn Ann Harlos via Lnc-business <lnc-business@hq.lp.org> wrote:<br type="attribution" /><blockquote class="quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><p dir="ltr">John, you violated my IP.
