I have no objection to the language you suggest but I would take
direction on this issue from the LNC. The language used in the
brief is the language we have used in the past. If the LNC accepts
your recommendation I'll be happy to use the language you suggest
in the future.<br>

<div><br>
</div>
<div>Dear LNC members,</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><span class="x_Apple-tab-span"></span>The
opening sentence of the brief states that,</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<i>"The Libertarian National Committee (“LNC”)
is the governing body of the Libertarian
Party, the third-largest political party in
the United States."</i>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><span class="x_Apple-tab-span"></span>However
it is Libertarian Party members, as
represented by delegates at LP national
conventions, who are the party's true
governing body. The LNC is<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><i>subordinate</i><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>to the
membership acting in convention, and is the
party's governing body only when convention
delegates are not in session. This is
important to the credibility and leadership
accountability that comes from our being a
bottom-up, grassroots organization, and the
above sentence should be revised accordingly.
Here is some suggested replacement language:</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><i>"The Libertarian Party is the third
largest political party in the United States
and the leading alternative to the two-party
Democrat/Republican cartel. Between
conventions, when its delegates are not in
session, the Libertarian National Committee
(“LNC”) is the party's governing body."</i></div>
<div><i><br>
</i></div>
<div><span class="x_Apple-tab-span"></span>This
said, the case itself appears worthy, and I'm
glad the LNC is weighing in to support the
elimination of anti-democratic requirements
that certain elected officials be Republicans
or Democrats.</div>
