<div dir='auto'>This seems kind of out of order seeing as how the LNC has voted to have a postponed in person convention with a motion on the table to hold electronic balloting for the VP/POTUS nominees only. <div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">-Joshua </div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">On May 5, 2020 7:33 AM, Nicholas Sarwark via Lnc-business <lnc-business@hq.lp.org> wrote:<br type="attribution" /><blockquote class="quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><p dir="ltr">Dear All,
<br>
<br>
During the discussions of how we adapt to the pandemic making travel and
<br>
physical mass meetings impossible, many people have expressed concerns
<br>
about the practicality of having a virtual convention. These fears are
<br>
usually formed as questions about how it would work and used as arguments
<br>
for delay and against trying to make it work. There are debates about the
<br>
proposals, bylaws changes, and systems, but these are all done in the
<br>
abstract.

<br>
My belief is that this committee serves at the pleasure of the delegates,
<br>
the delegates do not serve at the pleasure of the committee. They are not
<br>
ours to be told what sacrifices they must make and what business they are
<br>
allowed to consider. We are theirs to ensure that their voices are heard
<br>
and that they make the decisions about the future of our party and who
<br>
should represent them.
<br>
<br>
To that end, I will gavel in a test run of the Libertarian National
<br>
Convention on the Libertarian Party Zoom account tonight at 7:00 pm
<br>
Eastern. Attendees will be credentialed and admitted to the room if they
<br>
are national delegates or alternates, based on the current credentials
<br>
committee lists. Others will be free to watch the simulcast on YouTube.
<br>
Hosts of the meeting will be able to recognize attendees in order to speak.
<br>
<br>
We will follow the convention agenda per the bylaws and move through as
<br>
much business as the time allows. We will see what works well and what
<br>
could be improved.
<br>
<br>
Details for how to register will be forthcoming later in the day. If you
<br>
would like to volunteer to assist, please feel free to contact Mr. Fishman.
<br>
<br>
Yours in liberty,
