I just went thru the A to D section of our nationwide list of candidates
for 2014.

Total candidates 113

Total number of winnable races 18

Total # of ballot access retention races 14 (1)

Percentage of non-ballot-access-retention candidates that have a chance of
winning 16%.

I am probably being generous with the percentage of winnable races, since I
did not check to see how much money the opponents had raised vs. the
Libertarian, nor did I check for partisan vs. non-partisan, nor did I check
to see if the seats were open, nor if they were competing against
incumbents. I understand that some of our candidates and state officials
might disagree with my assessment, and that is fine. Nevertheless - I will
go out on a limb and predict that the LP will have 19 victories on Election
Day next month. That includes incumbents running for re-election.

I know we did not vote for this as a goal. But - if the LNC could convince
our affiliates to sign on to trying to get the percentage of winners in
non-ballot-access-retention races to increase from 16% to 50% in the
November 2016 General Election, while having at least as many candidates
nationwide as we have in this year's November election, then I think our
members will be very happy on Wednesday, November 9, 2016.

1. Obviously I do not think that any of the ballot-access-retention
candidates will win their elections. I do hope that all of them will retain
ballot access for their state affiliate.
