FYI see forwarded message below from a California LPer on living in a top
two state.

BTW a poll shows the Yes / No votes for the top two ballot initiative in
Oregon (Measure 90 on Nov. 4 ballot) are in a dead heat with a very high
26% undecided. Don't know if that was before Michael Bloomberg spent $1M+
for the Yes campaign. If so, we could be in trouble. OTOH, we could see a
strong upset as happened in Arizona.

Subject: Exciting time to be a Libertarian -NOT in CA

Message Body:
I got the email about it being an exciting time to be a Libertarian. Well,
ever since the powers that be instituted the "open Primary" in CA, it
stinks
to be a Libertarian. I may see Libertarians on my Primary ballot, but they
are nowhere to be seen on the real election ballot. Heck, and sometimes
now we have our choice of either 2 Republicans or 2 Democrats. Only the
top two vote getters in the primary end up on the election ballot. This
really
stinks
.

If you want to make sure the LPCA doesn't whither up and die, then I
strongly believe the LP should join hands with the Independent Party, the
Green Party, the Natural Law party , and god forbid, even those commies
that call themselves the Peace & Freedom Party to fund a hard campaign to
get rid of the "Open Primary" in CA. They say as CA goes, eventually goes
the rest of the nation.

Look at how
screwed
up CA has become with Democrats having free reign (Governor and majorities
in both the Assembly & State Senate). If we don't do something about it in
CA, you will see this "open primary" spread across the nation and it will
be the death knell to all 3rd Political Parties.
