[Lnc-business] seeking co-sponsors for email ballot regarding Oregon

The LP Louisiana went through vicious infighting while I was there in
2011. There were at least three factions. I think I actually managed to
stay friendly with all three factions throughout the fighting, and I'm
on speaking terms with all three factions today. I occasionally converse
productively with them via email and phone.
I haven't figured out in my mind how to help resolve the Oregon
situation or how I think it should be resolved. I just do what the chair
at the time instructs me to do when it comes to Oregon (I've served
under three chairs now during this Oregon dispute). Otherwise, I try to
keep staff and myself out of it, and assume it could go on forever.
Nevertheless, against my better judgement, I'll offer the possibility
that I'd be willing to make an attempt to have a productive conversation
will all three factions in the Oregon dispute if all three factions want
my help. I consider the three factions in this dispute to be the Wagner
group, the Reeve's group, and the LNC. However, it would not be
surprising to me if one, two, or even all three of those groups would
rather see me go jump in the Potomac than wade into the Oregon dispute.
In any case, I do think it's sad to see so much fighting about this.
Wish we could find a way to work together, or at least work
separately--rather than work against each other.
Yours in liberty,
Wes Benedict, Executive Director
