[Lnc-business] Specialization is good

True - but accountants still send emails. Now (at the risk of getting even
more negative points) if an accountant builds his business to the point
where he has the resources to hire an email-writer, then comparative
advantage will kick in - but not until then. He can't just outsource
emails before he has any clients and expect to be able to meet payroll.
So even if we had a $10,000,000 budget, we should be as economical as
possible - but what constitutes being economical may change because of
comparative advantage. But that doesn't necessarily tell us how to get
there.
Are there things that absolutely should be outsourced right now? I think
so - first on the list is things you can outsource for free, or for a
savings - such as using Helms and Briscoe.
On the other hand, the chair has directed that we livestream our meeting.
I'm sure there are companies out there that can do so for us at a high
price. Outsourcing that doesn't seem like the most logical thing to do.
We're never going to eliminate everything outside of our core competency.
The question is one of trade-offs. I'm not a travel agent, but I still
have to figure out how to get to meetings and book my hotel room.
