I strongly agree with you that ballot access lobbying is very important.



It is pretty clear we don't have the money right now to pay for professional
lobbyists.  So, to do any lobbying we have to rely on the affiliate in that
state. 

 

I have located three LP members who have successfully lobbied their State
Legislatures.  They have agreed to advise LP affiliates who want to lobby
for easier ballot access retention laws on how to do it successfully.  LPHQ
staff has their contact information, and will give it out to bona fide LP
members who have permission from their State Chair or State Committee.

 

The cost to the National LP of making those referrals is basically zero.

 

So, for 2015, I am OK with not allocating any money for ballot access
lobbying.
