[Lnc-business] Professional Photographer at LNC Meeting

Dear Dr. Lieberman,

I'm not going to make anyone sit for a photo they don't want. If you
decide to reconsider, the photographer will be there and setup to take
photos for everyone who will sit for him. I would like to have
everyone present take advantage of that opportunity.

I have been told by our Political Director that I need more and better
photos to go out with media releases. I've also been told by
convention planners for states I've been invited to speak to that they
would like more and better photos for their promotional materials.
For these reasons, I was planning to retain Mr. Uilkie.

In consultation with Mr. Benedict, he suggested that I try to
negotiate a reduced rate to get more and better photographs for the
rest of the LNC. I did, and the final cost will be less than $100 per
person. The end result is that our committee will have better looking
photographs on our soon-to-be redesigned website with out soon-to-be
redesigned logo. The committee will have high-quality photos that
they can use for their next run for Federal, state, or local office.
The committee will have high-quality photos that they can send to
organizers of events and conventions that they go out to speak to.

I am as careful with donor funds as I am with my own. I have decided
that it makes sense to spend less than $100 per LNC member who spends
thousands of dollars of their own money multiple times per year to
travel to attend to the party's business to improve the image our
party shows to the public.

I'm happy if members of the LNC wish to donate to the party to defray
some of that cost; board fundraising is below target so far for the
year anyway. I'm happy if some of our sustaining members wish to
donate to the party to defray some of that cost; we represent them.

The LNC is well within its prerogative to override my decision on this
issue (as on many other things), but if you do so I will still use my
Chair's discretionary funds to pay for this because I think it's good
for the LNC and the Libertarian Party.

I hope you will reconsider,

Nick
