[Lnc-business] first 2016 LNC meeting date and location?

Mr. Riemers:
The average daily rate for hotels in the USA as of two months ago was $123
per night:
http://www.statista.com/statistics/208133/us-hotel-revenue-per-available-roo
m-by-month/
I don't feel like looking at my credit card bills for the past year, but I
would estimate that the average daily rate the LNC has paid for hotel rooms
for LNC Sessions during this term has averaged around $115 per night,
excluding taxes. And most of the time we have obtained either a truly
"free" breakfast, or at least a continental breakfast which was used as part
of the food and beverage requirement to waive the room rental fee.
The only place you will find $40 to $60 room rates is discount hotels in
small towns that don't have nearby, usable airports, or really run-down
motels in big cities. Neither of these types of hotels tend to have meeting
rooms that are large enough for our purposes.
Just for the hell of it, this is what a superficial look at Google yields
for North Dakota:

Courtyard by Marriott Fargo Moorhead

I have no idea how the above rates correspond to the rate we can get for an
LNC Session at those hotels, nor if the above hotels have suitable meeting
rooms, but as you can see below, the local airport does not have a huge
number of non-stop flights:

I don't have any trouble trusting my life to Southwest or the other major
airlines. All of the airlines listed above, except for Delta, use pilots
that probably make around $40,000 per year. No thank you.
I should add that Fargo is the largest city in ND.
In other words - our current system for LNC Sessions might not be ideal, but
it is probably the best compromise in terms of
hotel guest room cost, airline cost, and having a reasonably comfortable
meeting room.

I care less really where or when we meet, as I am committed to be there
regardless. But would like at a location with cheap air fares, lots of
flights, a cheap hotels ($40-$60 and not $140-$260), a reasonable sized
and cheap room to meet in, a location with a free shuttle from the airport,
and naturally a free breakfast in the morning. If not that, just come to
my house in ND and we can meet for free in my basement.

After reading some of the discussion on this list, I'm thinking February 20,
or March 5 would be the best dates, and either Los Angeles or Indianapolis
would be preferred locations.
I don't make these decisions--I'm just trying to facilitate the discussion
so I can make educated guesses.
We're trying to plan our next training event, and I'll encourage February 6
or 13 for the training event. We're leaning towards the West Coast for
this.
My history of correctly guessing the weekend and location of LNC meetings
has been pretty poor lately--so keep that in mind before making decisions
based on what I'm thinking.

If you want to propose dates and possible locations in advance of the next
LNC meeting for a February or March LNC meeting, feel free to make
suggestions to consider in advance.
Robert Kraus and I have occasionally proposed dates and locations, only to
be met with derision and scorn for conflicting with certain sports events.
A list of 2016 state conventions is here:
<https://www.lp.org/blogs/staff/2016-state-conventions>

Staff is considering the possibility of another training session, possibly
in February, and while we would probably attempt to avoid the LNC meeting,
that's not 100% required.
We'd like to announce the date and location in the upcoming LP New if
possible.
Thanks,
