I have two questions and a motion. I begin with the questions:
1. What are we currently doing in terms of facebook ads?
2. Do we have a url tracker on our membership sign up page?
In NJ we have been running targeted ads directing people to our membership
page. This has been very successful. Our membership has grown 78% this year
as of September 1st. (Although I don't have a url tracker so I can't
quantify to what extent this growth was organic.)
I asked Robert Kraus and Lauren Daugherty about our national social media
advertising and they were unable to provide any details.
A successful social media advertising strategy is critical to taking our
Party into the future. As we move into the climax of the election season
this is especially important.
In the absence of details about our current situation I make the following
motion:
I move we allocate $1,000 for a targeted facebook ad to run October 4th to
November 4th. The ad is to be targeted to Gary Johnson supporters and other
Libertarian keywords. It will take the form of a "website promotion"
directing people to our membership sign up page. I suggest the following
headline:
"Love Liberty? Tired of politics as usual? Join the Libertarian Party
today!"
For context a similar ad run by the NJLP had the following results:
Budget: $229
Reach: 31,985
Link Clicks: 397
Cost per click: $0.58
The goals of the campaign are:
1. Grow membership
2. Raise the profile of the LP during election season
3. Help develop best practices for future advertising campaigns
4. Invite people who "like" the promotion to join the national facebook page
I will volunteer to personally handle all the details of setting up and
managing this campaign.
Who is willing to cosponsor this motion?
Thanks,
Patrick McKnight
