[Lnc-business] Fwd: Quarterly Board Meeting Hotel Proposals

At this point my preference is the alternative option -- that we go to
Phoenix, stay in a different hotel but still get to visit two of the
potential 2018 convention sites.
I was the one that during the November LNC meeting suggested we check with
the 2018 sites for the Feb LNC meeting. To get the space necessary for a
convention, we typically need higher-end hotels for conventions than we
need for LNC meetings. An LNC meeting by itself isn't much leveraging
power to get deals for these higher end hotels, but I hoped that having the
convention selection on the table could land us a great deal for Feb. I
was disappointed that these sites didn't even give us deals as good as what
we're talking about for the convention. They had decent offerings on LNC
expenses like meeting room, F&B, and a/v, but they did not do as well on
the room rates for the attendees. Oh, well. It was worth asking.
