[Lnc-business] Bill in Oklahoma legislature to relax requirements

I think a better test of a state's party numbers would be a requirement of 2.5% average for all their state wide endorsed candidates.  Thus, the party would likely want to eliminate "place holder" candidates who just clutter up the ballot.   Thus making it easier for the minor parties,  easier for the major parties,  and easier for the voters.Roland Riemers ND

Nominee is almost definitely not going to receive2.5% of the vote in Oklahoma ,or in any other state.  (except that Gary Johnson might get 2.5% in New Mexico ).
If there is any way we can get the Legislature to expand the offices that wouldsatisfy the vote test to all statewide offices including US Senate, and amendit so that passing the vote test gives 4 years of ballot access, I would gladlylet them increase the percentage to 3% or even 4%.          Scott Lieberman       From: Lnc-business [mailto:lnc-business-bounces at hq.lp.org] On Behalf Of Wes Benedict

"OklahomaState Senator Kyle D. Loveless ( R-Oklahoma City ) has introduced SB896. It changes the definition of “political party” from a groupthat polled at least 10% for the office at the top of the ballot in the lastelection (President or Governor) to 2.5% of the same base. Thanks to E. ZacharyKnight for this news."
