[Lnc-business] Empowered Future Committee update

Hi Larry, thank you for the clarification.

On the name, here is my concern, and I have not been shy about my
concerns. There is an institutional history of slippage on the LNC, and
this committee was approved for one thing. Solicit bids and I would think
making recommendations on those bids would be implied within that
authorization. The name sets up expansion - expansion which was not
approved or voted upon. This will seem pedantic to some, but I find the
concern to be real - as I have already seen happen twice. Once with the
suggestion that the slogan question is one for this new committee and just
today with the suggestion that all of a sudden we are going to veer off
into a messaging committee. I like things to be accurately named for what
they are - yes, even in a utilitarian manner - not as a set up for
something else or something that does not give members any idea of what the
heck the committee is. Committees are utilitarian bodies, not motivational
vehicles. No member can see this name and have any idea what it is. While
I might think the APRC should be the "Super Awesome Warriors of Liberty
Committee" that doesn't give an idea of what we do. If we are going to
have a non-functionally descriptive name, yes, I am the one who thinks that
is part of the committee creation, not something decided on later. This
was a 2016 Campaign Review Committee or something similar. These overly
colorful names are prejudical to those of us who were not in favor of this
action. What kind of terrible person is against an "Empowered Future"?
Yet a reasonable person can be against bringing in a non-Libertarian
political consultant or soliciting bids. Thus, as a dissenting vote, I
object.

My duty is to be cautious. This is a limited committee to obtain bids and
give opinions on the bids.

Once again, great choice of David. He will be an asset to you both.
