[Lnc-business] Biased Resumes

PC culture has gotten more ridiculous than I even realized if asking for a
PDF is "biased" now. :-)
The PDF format was my call. Because word processors use scripting
languages for fancy functionality, I'm more likely to pick up malware by
accepting Word docs than PDFs. There are many choices for free software
that creates a PDF from any software with a Print feature, and there are
free online services to convert, so most people are readily able to
generate PDFs. When I get the file in Word or some other format, then I
have to spend the time to convert it to PDF so I can give the LNC a PDF
bundle, so it saves me time if the files are already provided in PDF. If
the files sent to me are created with software that I don't use, then I
have to spend time to either go back to the person and ask for something
else that I can work with.
If someone wants to apply but really has no means to generate a PDF, just
tell them to email their application to me at secretary at lp.org instead. If
they use a word processor that I don't use, then we're at a stalemate.
