[Lnc-business] Budget/EC role question

I would think it most effective if the staff would present their version,
the EC their version, and then the board makes the final decisions. That
said, while it was grueling this weekend, I think it went about as smoothly
as possible and don't have a problem in particular with how the process
went. I think the EC should communicate with the board ahead of time to
find out how individuals feel about the budget so that (ideally) most of
the bumps are smoothed out before the full board sees it. any remaining
bumps could then be easily explained or justified from within those
proposals based on those individual and pre-emptive conversations. That
simple step could save hours of work in front of the entire body.

I know I was not contacted about my thoughts on the budget once by any
member of the EC ahead of time which was disappointing.
