[Lnc-business] Fwd: Koerner proposal

Jeff, and here again it goes.

Quite obviously, Lauren believes she did all that she was asked - that was
never in doubt by me - and no one called her - in public - a liar.

It is quite apparent that both sides interpreted things entirely
differently and *no one is a liar and no one should have been called one,
and it should not be our practice to do that.* Hell, the motion was even
made in a derogatory way. Everyone else may be perfectly happy with that.
I have heard all kinds of things from "that's how things are done" and "he
isn't a member of the Party anyways" and none of that means a thing. How
things are done is no better than "'its the law" and party membership for
treating people and not besmirching their intergrity is no better than
tribalism.

To some people there is nothing worse than being called liar, for your name
and your reputation are all you really have.

I considered this over and am responding only because you did not
accurately state my issue, and I must assume (since neither of us are
trying to purposefully do anything amiss) that this is a fault in my early
communication.

Hopefully I am clear. I encourage everyone to go re-watch that portion of
the meeting and see if they are proud of us. Lauren certainly was not
treated the best either - things were in such a rush that no one got a
chance to make sure we were all talking about the same thing.

I honestly don't care if I am the only one on this body who found it
mortifying. Multiple members of the gallery certainly did. I will stand
on my principle that we as Libertarians should model excellence in business.

the LNC have had plenty of opportunity to speak to Mr. Koerner and
     those
who felt so inclined have done so. I think Ms. Daugherty is the one
     here
owed an apology. She has kept all of us very well informed of her
     every
communication, and has done so as effectively. Still, she has
     suffered
being ignored in person and on this thread while she repeatedly
     tried to
assert that she did in fact do the job that was asked of her. That
     is
what talking past someone looks like. I am seeing the exact same
discussions we were having in October, right after the meeting,
     still
happening now. Clearly, this topic has been beaten to death. Lets
     call
the question, any question, somebody find out what the actual
     question
is, to move this in a productive direction.
Personally, I think marketing is important and something that we
     need to
focus on improving. I was as impressed by the presentation as most
people were. However, I don't think this is a viable or salvageable
deal, and would urge everyone to vote "No" on the original proposal
     and
any subsequent offer, until our employees are secure in their wages
     and
our existing essential programs are properly funded. Mr. Koerner
     offers
little help with the implementation of this idea, and we simply do
     not
have the labor or funds to spare on new projects at this time, no
     matter
what the price tag is. I don't know how anyone present at that
     budget
meeting holding people's paychecks and livelihood in their hands as
     well
as the financial future of this organization could possibly question
     that.
I would propose we finally move to a vote: whether to decline the
proposal without counter-offer, and inform Mr. Koerner that we
     regret we
are not able to find a mutually beneficial path forward based on our
understanding of his expectations. Mr. Koerner is aware of what the
situation is on our side of the table. He is well equipped to
     proceed to
a new ask or, much more likely- to decide to suspend negotiations
     until
     matters change.
