[Lnc-business] Seeking co-sponsors

This is the first I am hearing of this matter....I don't know Ralph. In
reading his statement, I see he says that this image in no way reflects who
he is nor how he has represented his constituency.
As a matter of precedent, are we to say there is no redemption in being a
better person (if he indeed is) 30 years later? I know I am a better
person, in many ways, than I was in the 80s...the 90s, even. Hell, I might
just be a better person today than I was yesterday! Are we to see everyone
as being no better than their worst mistake, or dumbest decision, for all
their lives?
If we are going to call for the resignation of those who acted in poor
taste in their youth, that list will be quite long, and some of us might be
on it.
Again, I have read one article about this matter, right after Joe posted
his call for co-sponsors. My first thought was to see if the subject's
work, life, and deeds have aligned with the message the photo sends. If
they have not, and/or have indeed been contrary to it, is this really a
direction we want to go?
