[Lnc-business] Looking for sponsors: Miami Meeting

In response to the questions about a fundraising opportunity:

As you know, we've done two LNC meetings and two associated fundraising
events in Alexandria in recent months. Neither of those events raised much.
Part of that is because we don't have a big donor base in the area and part
of it is because we've been there so much in recent times.

It is helpful to move these events around the country to reach out to new
groups of members and donors. This is helpful for the party both in the
short term and long term, as we build relationships.

I have not done any work on a fundraising event in Miami yet so there are
no details to share.

Regardless of the amount of money raised at a specific event, much of the
value in fundraising events is the relationship building...helping get
people exposed to the party in a more substantial way and inspiring them to
get involved, as donors, members, activists, etc.

Some cities are easier for hosting fundraising events than others.
Sometimes we can predict that. Sometimes we can't.

I'm happy to discuss this on the phone more with anyone who is interested
in that level of detail. But there is a limit to what I will post on this
forum about fundraising outreach, methods, and strategies.

Side note: Robert is very talented at getting us great deals at hotels.
Often we pay very little or nothing for the event room.
