For those who want to learn more about a google group and its features.

Also, The Sunlight foundation an organization whose sole purpose is government transparency makes use of google groups.

I generally am a big fan of gsuites and the organizational, archival, and security benefits of their services. I’m not sure I see the the security or transparency downside. Also making the list more readable and function for the public seems like a plus. Considering how often the current reflector list breakdown and becomes hard to read why not just use something that works and not waste time on fixing something secure and more prone to breaking again in the future as technology updates.
