Normally we have about an 80% attrition rate. For 1400 room nights that
mean we have to fill at least 1120 room night. With this contract we
have asked for 2035 room night but we have a 50% attrition which is 1018
room nights to fill. That is less than a standard contract would have
required. I don't see any purpose to go back to this issue. if we have
400 people stay for 3 days, we have more than enough to cover this.
Yes, I know there are a lot of people who will be staying elsewhere but
that always happens. We will also have a lot of people who will stay
more than four nights.
The room night part of this contract is excellent.

But my point was we were going to do a branch survey that would dig in deeper with additional ?'s for each person who responded. We had 816 tl room nights in Columbus BTW. I am trying to reduce our risk & like Ms. Harlos see zero reason why we would commit to far more rooms then we'll ever need.
> The contract / terms if flexible enough that if we need more rooms, and they are available, and there is zero reason to think they wouldn't be available, we can get it. There is no up side to over committing other then to increase our risk. I am providing you all with my expert opinion that we can have a rate of $119 & lower our rooms to 1500/300 and get everything we want. I ask for the COC's permission to contact Doug & work out these terms before your call today.

Which would have been structured in such a way to get more info for the yes people such as are you planning to stay at the venue. I strongly feel this will be more like Columbus vs. New Orleans & Orlando esp considering we are not doing the presidential part now - which is what my org assumptions were based on. In addition all over FB folks are given the impression that they'll be able to participate remotely in some fashion. Many of the comments I've seen show that those folks, like you, answered yes even if they do not plan on staying at the venue (because they are participating/attending from home).

As you all know I do feel the survey sent out was biased but despite that & the fact that most of the maybe yes' are likely not going, I am still using the 744 number. This is in line with the examples provided for 2016/18 of active delegates. Based on that the 1500/300 recommendation still makes total sense. There is ZERO reason to to put more rooms in our block then needed. This convention will not be larger / more successful then the last 2. Anyone who thinks that is on some really good drugs so please share.

> In addition, I feel Daniel & I may have made an oversight in the room rate. Below is the org offer from Shingle Creek. When we added the $10 to master the room rate should have only gone up to $119 and not $129. As you can see we got what we asked for in terms of space & F&B. This rate should be adjusted, along with room nights & the other items we talked about, on any final contract.

Based on the pattern and dates that we discussed earlier this week, the Rosen Shingle Creek can offer its largest ballroom (which is the third-largest pillar-free, carpeted ballroom in in the US) for the LNC 2020 and has sufficient other space for your program with the discussed social-distancing.
