Sam, I've not yet seen a poll from the LNC, but my vote would be "to go"
to the In-person LP Convention. While the nay-sayers are relishing in
the latest developments, it makes good business sense to me. Putting
the LP Convention attendees into another 'up & running' hotel down the
road, which is attached to a bigger/better convention hall, is a way to
make money rather than lose money. The latest rumor the Rosen has
nefarious intentions to cancel the contract when they will make a lot of
money from the LP, is an attempt to kill the in-person convention. It
appears to me the Rosen is acting in good faith to keep the LP's
business which they desperately need.
As a delegate from Indiana, I was in favor of the 'compromise' to split
the convention so that our President & VP nominees could get on the
ballot in all 50 states. Is it possible some members are using the
COVID-19 as an excuse not to go to an in-person meeting rather than
admit they don't have the funding to travel? It's possible.
Sam, when you have your meeting to discuss and vote on the revised
contract with Rosen, you are welcome to mention my concerns. Not just
as a delegate, but as a Candidate for a federal position, it's important
for me to go to the LP National Convention. It is also my opinion that
Dr. Jo needs to have a 'lively rally' to bolster her campaign. Our
Pres/VP nominees will benefit from this. Just sharing my opinion. Hope
to see you in Orlando.
