[Lnc-business] Letter to all of the Presidential candidates

I will not be in favor of contract terms that require potential
presidential candidates to hand over their email lists that they
accumulated prior to receiving our nomination. I think that attempting to
use that as a negotiating tactic just to see what we can get from them in
exchange for eliminating that provision would discourage any celebrity
candidates and only attract candidates who have no such asset. Suppose
John Stossel or Judge Napolitano were interested in our nomination. Is
that equitable to demand that we get the benefit of their life's work?
We're not offering to give them our list. Their mailings to our list would
go through a bonded mail house.
Let's not scare off the people who we would most like to court.
I will not consider it a negative against a candidate who balks at such a
provision.
