We are being slammed by gun rights groups for not taking a firm proactive
stand on this. In Colorado, we (they) have this question come up most
often at Outreach booths and the LPCO took a firm position on it to quell
any confusion that may have been the result of differing statements than
our candidates have made considering guns and watch lists and the direction
of the current administration, particularly considering that
"ant-government types, such as libertarians" have been targetted for
watchlists over the past year and as campaign fear-mongering takes place,
is certain to remain an issue. However, Joshua is right. There are other
multiple issues that could be addressed.

Let me lay out the frank concerns of the Libertarian Party of Colorado (via
the State Chair) which I am sure is shared by many members and affiliates.

There are three issues which are in the news about which the position of
our Party is being muddled. Freedom of association, drug laws, and gun
rights. Massive changes in freedom of association laws are not going to
happen tomorrow. Drugs other than pot are not going to be legalized
tomorrow. Gun rights restrictions and watch lists are happening right NOW
and we need to take a stand now and be crystal crystal clear as national
leadership.
