I just had an online chat with Zoom support and confirmed that the per-host
pricing means that we pay for each person who has a host login, and the
login cannot be shared with other people. Same situation as with Adobe
Connect.

Yes, we had one rough experience with it for the Platform Committee,
but we've had other meetings with it that worked well. Part of the
issue was calling the meeting during the week when several were at
work, or driving home from work, and we had more phone participation
   than was optimal.
When we picked Adobe Connect, we appointed a committee that evaluated
more than 10 systems using maybe 25-30 different criteria before we
picked a winner. We wanted to know if it had sufficient features to
reasonably support parliamentary procedure. We looked for features
that prevented admin abuse during the meeting. Etc. There were group
tests to kick the tires. It wasn't just someone saying, "Hey, I like
   this system!"
Elizabeth, I know you wouldn't have reason to know this, but the cost
we pay for Adobe Connect is not the rack rate listed on the website.
We went up the chain a little bit to Citrix and got a flat
$500/year/host for up to 100 participants. When people participate by
phone, we do pay a per-minute rate for the phone, but it's not
   significant.
Can the co-sponsors pin down for us exactly what the annual cost would
be for us? The link provided earlier shows the rates as being
per-host, and that sounds very much like the situation we have now,
though it was portrayed as allowing us to pass the login credentials
from one person to another. If that's true, what does per-host mean
   for Zoom?
I'm going to need to kick the tires on Zoom before I could support the
   motion.
Even if I am ultimately impressed with the software, I would like to
amend the motion. I certainly wouldn't offer to people in section (i)
that they don't have to bother setting their name as directed because
the admin can just do it for them. Tell people to do it themselves,
not expect an admin to babysit them. We know some won't follow
directions, but that's a pain for the admin to have to monitor during a
   meeting.
I also don't see the value of adding section (p) to the end. It seems
like it's written just to critique the Adobe Connect platform, and it
doesn't add something substantive to the rules for participating in the
   meetings.
